On Thursday, September 3, 2009, Milton Worthington, Delyle Evans and Melvin Worthington were honored as Paul Harris Fellows at the Rotary Club of Ayden meeting.  Assistant District Governor Mary Vincent was on hand to present each of them with their Certificate of Recognition, Lapel Pin and Medallion. 

It was just a few months ago when Delano Wilson received this honor with the Club.  It was during his recognition ceremony that District Governor Vivian Mott issued the challenge to the Rotary Club of Ayden member to aim at getting more Paul Harris Fellows this year.  The challenge was accepted that very night by three members, Milton Worthington, Delyle Evans and Melvin Worthington. 

It is very exciting that our club has risen to the challenge issued and we will continue to strive to have more members become Paul Harris Fellows, says Club President, Paula Loftin. 

The Paul Harris Fellowship is named for Paul Harris, who founded Rotary with three business associates in Chicago in 1905.  The Fellowship was establised in his honor in 1957 to express appreciation for a contribution of $1,o00 to the humanitarian and educational programs of The Rotary Foundation.  Those programs include an array of projects that save an invigorated the Foundation programs provide educational opportunities, food, potable water, health care, immunizations and shelter for millions of persons.
