Paul Harris Fellow 2009

The Rotary Foundation provides many opportunities for donors to express their commitment to Rotary’s work or to honor a friend or family member through a named or endowed gift.  Through one such program, the Paul Harris Fellow Recognition, Delano Wilson with the Rotary Club of Ayden was able to gain recognition.

Mr. Delano Wilson says, “This has been a long time coming through years of donations.  I started this with a pledge of $25 dollars a month and I never missed it.”

The District Governor of District 7720, Dr. Vivian Mott, was able to commemorate the moment by presenting Mr. Wilson with a certificate and pin.  Each new Paul Harris Fellow receives a commemorative certificate and a pin.

Donors of $1,000 or more to the Annual Programs Fund, PolioPlus, or the Humanitarian Grants Program, or people who have that amount contributed in their name, can be recognized as Paul Harris Fellows.

Contributions to the Annual Programs Fund are the primary source of funding for Foundation programs, which cover more than 160 countries and geographical areas on seven continents. From digging water wells for villages in Africa to teaching basic literacy skills to children in Latin America, during any given moment, thousands of Rotarians volunteer their time and expertise. All contributions to the Annual Programs Fund are spent wisely on quality Rotary projects.
