2011 Rotarian of the Year

 

 

 

Clarence Henry Overman Announced as Rotarian of the Year

He has been a member of the Ayden Rotary for 29 years.  He has had at one time had 16 years perfect attendance and coordinates the Pancake Supper’s Ad Circular. 

Graduated from High School in Wayne Co. in 1949 and attended Free Will Baptist Bible College in Nashville, Ten. 1950-1952.
He graduated from Atlantic Christian College in 1957 with a major in religion and a minor in social studies.  

He has served as a pastor at churches in Columbia, Walstonburg, Maury, Middlesex, Goldsboro, Fountain, Ayden, and Kinston.  

Served for several years in the following capacities:  as Assistant Editor and Editor of the Free Will Baptist Press;

Recording Secretary of the State Convention and also its Vice President, Vice-President of the NC Ministerial Association, member of the Sunday school convention executive committee, Vice-President of the State League Convention, Executive Administrator of the Convention of Original
Free Will Baptists, Chairman of the Convention’s Project Solution Task Force Committee, and Editor Emeritus of Free Will Baptist press. 

He taught in public schools for 20 years from 1969 to 1989.
